We are proud to present Origin of Now, a collection that embodies the spirit of Margaret River. Guided by John and Toni Tate’s unwavering commitment to crafting exceptional wines, and knowledge of the power in this region.
We are proud to present Origin of Now, a collection that is a testament to the unique terroir of Margaret River, where pristine landscapes and oceanic influences converge to create wines of exceptional quality. Born from the passion for winemaking excellence and a deep respect for the environment by John and Toni Tate, Origin of Now is a collection that captures the essence of this remarkable region, and invites you to experience the magic of Margaret River for yourself.
We wanted to create wines reflecting the path that has led us here today. Our passion originates with John Tate, taking in the vast land of Margaret River and knowing there was prosperity beneath his feet. With this knowledge he committed himself to making wines that were the authentic representation of the region.

When they began making wine in Margaret River, John had no interest in making wines of a lesser quality then what he believed the region could derive. John Tate was in a position that he didn’t have to make compromises. He knew this was only going to work if he did not compromise the quality and put everything, he could into making wines that were the purest reflection of the terroir.
As insinuated and I’m sure approved by John Tate, this range was built with the guidance of no rules and no compromise. With a focus around showcasing the purity and authenticity of this region. From our hand-selected grapes to our dedication to quality, every bottle of Origin of Now represents the heart and soul of Margaret River.
In the last few years, we shifted our goal to get back to our origin and honour John Tate’s exploration in Margaret River. We focused on increasing our accessibility to the best fruit the terroir has to offer. With this we have been able to really listen to the land, create what it is trying to express and today we are able to present our 2021 range including a Chardonnay, Shiraz, and Cabernet Sauvignon.
“Every vintage will be completely different, since there are no rules, every vintage will be about expressing what we think is the best of Margaret River that year. So, it could be different grapes, different sizes, different processes, different techniques.” - Frederique Perrin.
